Accessibility
The path around the lake is generally strong and accessible. The longer walk, through the bog, is not suitable for wheelchairs and can in parts be difficult to negotiate for pushchairs after rainfall. The terrain is level throughout and the paths are generally well-kept. The toilets and cafe have disabled access.

California Country Park
Not as large as some of its cousins, California Country Park is none-the-less well worth a visit. Of particular interest are the orange stream and the walk through the 8000 year old Longmoor bog.
Walking
Essentially, there are two walks, one being an extension of the other. The short route leads around the Longmoor Lake and takes about 45 minutes.
We recommend the longer route, much of it leading through marshlands and the 8,000 year old Longmoor Bog on specially constructed board walks.
The terrain is fascinating and wildlife is abundant. Not surprisingly, this is now a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Activities
California Country Park offers a children's adventure playground, a small paddling pool open in the summer (weather permitting), picnic benches and lawns. There is also a cafeteria serving refreshments and snacks.
This country park does not offer a playing field and thus is not really suitable for games such as football or frisbee.
What to consider
Waterproof footwear is recommended after rainfall, especially if you walk the longer route.
