Marsh Lock and Weir

Marsh Lock and its associated weir are situated on the River Thames, 4.8 km (3.0 mi) downstream from Shiplake Lock and 4.59 km (2.85 mi) upstream from Hambleden Lock. Although the lock is close to the Berkshire bank, access is via two walkways from the Oxfordshire bank.

Around the lock

There are some benches, as well as a couple of picnic tables, from where you can watch the vessels go by.

Beyond the lock

Henley-on-Thames town centre is not far, or you can walk along the Thames to Mill Meadows, a pleasant recreational area on the river where refreshments are available. A bit more than halfway towards the meadows is the River and Rowing Museum, which is also worth a visit.
